If you are looking forward to a short weekend getaway from Bangalore to relax and unwind, this quaint little town in the western ghats of Karnataka does just that for you! Surrounded by lush green coffee plantations and a spice garden with the views of many hills and valleys, a trek to Sakleshpur will take away all your worries. The sub-tropical climate and heavy rains during the rainy season have created an environment that has a wooded forest, clear streams, and a variety of flora and fauna. This beautiful hill station is not only famous for its scenic beauty, amazing weather but also for its amazing trekking trails. 

Join us for a relaxed weekend as we head out to explore the trails of Sakleshpur, visit the historical Manjarabad fort and the exquisite Abbi falls. The trek as we like to call it, ” The Panoramic 360° view trek” is fairly simple and is about 3 hours. We walk along the jeep trails until we reach a narrow path that we ascend to further reach a wide clearing from where you’ll find a few smaller peaks which can be explored. We shall start Day-2 by visiting the beautiful Abbi falls which are nestled in the lush green between coffee estates. It is a popular tourist spot and is a 1km walk to the falls!  Some small mountain streams and Brooks join together and the waterfalls from a small height of 35-40feet to form the enchanting Abbi falls. Next, we will explore the beauteous and magnificent Manjarabad fort, which is an 18th-century fort built by Tipu Sultan. This star-shaped Fort has a very picturesque appeal and it perfect to click pictures! 

You shall be relaxing at a homestay which is located amidst coffee plantations giving you very relaxed vibes. A river flows by close to the homestay and you can chill alongside the riverbed. All in all, it’s a perfect place to unwind and get in touch with nature and yourself!

Sakleshpur - A Two Day Overview

Day 0

  • Leave from Bangalore at 9:00 PM ( approx )

Day 1

  • Saturday Morning Reach to Homestay, fresh up & have breakfast,
  • Trekking starts at Etthinabuja Peak(5 Km)
  • Reach to peak and have some fantastic views
  • Trek back to the base point and have lunch
  • After the lunch visit to Pandavara Gudda & Bettada Byraveshwara Temple
  • Back to homestay & have Tea Snacks
  • Night Campfire(Optional), games, and Dinner

Day 2

  • Wake up early morning and freshen up
  • Visit to Waterfalls & rejenuvate
  • Breakfast &check out from homestay
  • Visit Devaramane betta
  • Depart to Bangalore( Lunch on the way)
  • Reach Bangalore around 10 PM Sunday evening

Pickup Points

Following are the pick-up points & timings:

  • Please select your preferred pickup point from the drop-down list while booking
  • Any change in Pick up locations/ timings would be updated via mail 24 hours before the start of the trip
  • Drop-off points shall be same as the pick-up points

Group Size

  • Max number of People 20
  • We have an equal male to female ratio for most of our treks
  • We require a minimum of 8 members to confirm the event
  • In case we fail to obtain the required minimum, full refund or the option to transfer to any other event will be provided. (Option of transfer shall be subject to payment/refund of balance amount if any)
  • Mode of Transort depends on Group Size. If Group Size is below 12 then Tempo traveller and if above 12 then it would be a Minibus

  • Xerox Copy of you Aadhar/Voter ID (Mandatorily required for permits)
  • Small backpack to carry your essentials during the trek

I'm a solo traveller, Can I join?

The interesting thing about traveling alone is that you get to meet new people from  diverse backgrounds, and towards the end you are no longer strangers. Is it safe for Women/Girls?

Safety and security is our priority at all times. Hence it is absolutely safe for women/girls to join us on our treks and travels. Our trek leaders accompany the team at all times, and our campsites are secured and safe for accomodation. We also have female trek leaders who accompany on most of our treks.

 

Do I have any other boarding points apart from the ones mentioned?

Yes, we do have options for picking a traveler on board with a few locations provided they are on the route to our destination. Following are the same:

  • Croma Store, Sony World Signal

  • Trinity Circle Metro Station

  • Yeshwanthpur Metro Station

  • Goraguntepalya Metro Station

  • Nayanadahalli Metro Station

I have booked the trek when will I get further updates regarding the trek?

Well, most of our treks are usually confirmed by Thursday and you would receive a BON VOYAGE mail that would contain details as regards Pickup Points ( Location and Timings ), Outdoor Leader ( Point of Contact ), Do’s and Don’ts. You’ll be added to Whatsapp Group for all the further updates.

How do I avail discounts?

What is cancellation policy?

For Departures from Bangalore: In the event that YOU cancel your trek, this is the cancellation policy we follow

  • If you cancel before 7 days – 90% of amount will be refunded
  • If you cancel between 3 – 6 days – 50 % of amount will be refunded
  • If you cancel between 0-3 days – No Refund

Note: For All The Above Refund Cases Transaction Fees/Internet Handling Charges will be dedcuted from the overall amount and balance amount shall be refunded. You can transfer your ticket to anyone so that you could save your hard earned money

“Transfer to a future date is only possible only if you cancel between 3-6 days before the trek date and not on the day of departure or a day before”

  • Consumption of alcohol, intoxicants and smoking would not be tolerated during the entire course of the journey and the trek. Kindly co-operate with us to make the experience more fun.
  • Do not expect any luxuries on the trip. The locations that we host are at remote places and we do our best to arrange the basic facilities. The goal is to be outdoors.
  • The Food that shall be provided will be Basic Veg Food. We do not serve Non-Veg Food.
  • Put Litter in its place, do not trash your travel.

“An amazing experience and very adventurous.
This is one of the most challenging treks I have been to ,as there is quite a bit of walking and other challenges due to the monsoon season, but at the end of it, it’s definitely worth it.
What helped me overcome these challenges were the trek guides (Naveen, Gurpriya and Adith) of PTU and the friends I’ve made in this short span of time.
The home stay was good, the food provided was simple and very delicious.
I wish I could provide cons as well for this trek but I couldn’t find any, there are only positive moments to take away from this and so much to learn from each and everyone if you chose to learn more.
