Named after mythological characters from Mahabharata, Kaurava Betta and Pandava Betta are twin hillocks located 70 kms from Bangalore in the Chikkaballapura district of Karnataka. Owing to their roots from the Kuru clan, the hilltops are popularly referred to as Kaurava Konda.
A steep climb through rocky terrains and thick vegetation lead us to the peak. The cool breeze, almost freezing nights, stunning views, starlit skies, and lush greenery will definitely make this trek up to the peak worth the efforts. There’s also a Shiva temple on the way up.
Once there, we spend the night under the open sky and enjoy a night trekking experience that makes you forget you are just a couple of hours away from Bangalore.
Wake up the next day to a mesmerizing sunrise and 360-degree views of the surrounding hillocks. The popular Nandi Betta and Skandagiri can also be seen from here.
