Day 01: Guwahati to Shillong via Umiam lake
We will receive you at the Guwahati airport. The timing and dates will be confirmed with you in a separate mail. From the airport, the Meghalaya Tour will start. We will travel to Shillong. En-route we will visit Umiam Lake or Bara Pani. This lake is a significant source of hydroelectric power for Assam and Meghalaya.
Then the local representative will meet you and will provide a transfer to the hotel in Shillong. After check-in and dinner, you can spend your time at leisure.
Day 02: Travelling to Cherrapunji and sightseeing
After getting super-punched with breakfast, you will be travelling to Cherrapunjee or Sohra. It is a high-altitude town in Meghalaya. We will go to Shillong Peak to get a picturesque city view en route.
Along with these, we will also visit the Garden of Caves and Elephant Falls. We will also go to mysterious Mawsmai Caves formed out of limestone. Notably, these are the only caves in Meghalaya that are well-lit so that the tourists can enjoy their natural beauty.
Have you heard about Nohkalikai Falls and Seven Sister falls? We will also be visiting these. Nohkalikai is the tallest plunge falls in India. With a drop of 335 m, it is also the fourth highest waterfall globally. There is a story associated with these falls, but we will hold onto revealing it until you get with us on this life-changing Meghalaya tour.
Then, we will enjoy the evening, have our dinner and enjoy our stay at Cherrapunjee.
Day 03: Double Decker Bridge hike
Breakfast will be served at 7 am. After this, we will proceed to Tryna village. Next, we will start at the Double-Decker Bridge in Nongriat. There will be a local guide accompanying you. You can visit Rainbow Falls (self-sponsored) at INR 1500. Then, we will finally climb 3500 steps to complete the hike at the same village by evening.
Dinner with overnight stay will be followed.
Day 04: Sightseeing in Mawlynnong
With breakfast, we will start with Cherrapunji to Mawlynnong. We will engage ourselves in a short trek in the village to witness the local beauty.
You can visit Balancing Rock, Skywalk, Bangladesh Viewpoint and the longest living root bridge.
We will take a pitstop for lunch. After this, we will go to Shnongpdeng. Overnight stay will be followed at the Shnongpdeng Homestay.
Day 05: Adventure and Krang Suri Waterfalls
Wake up to see the pretty East Khasi Hills. Simultaneously, have breakfast. You can indulge in multiple adventure activities (self-sponsored)—kayaking, Boating, Zip lining, Cliff Jumping, etc.
Then, we will start for Jowai to visit magical waterfalls: Krang Suri Waterfalls. Feel free to take a dip in the natural pools.
Later, we will be travelling back to Shillong. You can spend your evening at leisure after dinner.
Day 06: Depart from Guwahati
After breakfast, we will drop you at Guwahati airport or railway station, and the Meghalaya trip will end. If time permits, we will go to Kamakhya Temple.
