Camping under the stars is an experience that everybody loves. The cool breeze, the dark skies, the warm campfire along with the twinkling stars is a perfect getaway. Plan The Unplanned brings to you not just another camping experience but camping in Magadi Valley, a land rich in organic farms. By the end of the experience, you will go home with a lot of knowledge of flora, fauna, organic and sustainable farming.
A mere 40kms away from the bustling city of Bengaluru is a working farm and biodiversity education center targeting young minds and progressive farmers nestled in a valley surrounded by beautiful scenic views. This farm is located near the Magadi district and is known for the conservation of traditional varieties of vegetables, food, grains, medicinal plants, and livestock which has been certified as fully organic since 2005. The farm is in the ambiance of a thriving ecosystem that is home to 250 identical species of plants, 50+ species of birds, and wildlife. It also has a spectacular view of sunrise.
This is a perfect getaway for those who enjoy the simple pleasures of being one with nature. There is simply so much to be looked at on the farm like the amazing world of plants, insects, farm animals, local flora & fauna. There also is a hands-on farming experience, bird watching, nature games and activities, hiking and night trek, campfire with a social night, and exploring the local culture. We assure you that this experience will make you realize the importance of organic and sustainable farming, the health benefits from nature’s exquisite herbs, and how simple it really is to integrate this into our normal lives.
Note:
Day 1
Day 2
Following are the pick-up points & timings:
We will leave our designated pick up point around 3.30 pm and check into the farm by 6 pm. Once we freshen up and get familiar with the farm, we will play some group games, sit around a campfire for a while and have our dinner. After dinner, we shall take a night trek listening to the sounds of nature. Pitching your own tent usually brings a lot of joy. Once we get back from the trek, we shall pitch our tents and retire for the night.
We wake up early to witness the gorgeous sunrise from the campsite itself. Then we will take a stroll into the jungle followed by a biodiversity walk where we will be shown various interesting flora and fauna.
We are of course not leaving without an adventurous activity! We will be building a raft out of bamboo and float around on it in the farm’s aquaculture pond.
Following all the hectic workouts, it’s time to relax our bodies and senses. Indulging in a bath using a concoction of various herbs is an ancient natural therapeutic practice that helps relieve tension, soothe sore muscles, boost immunity, bring a glow onto your skin, and a smile on your face from the refreshing experience. We treat ourselves to a calming herbal bath.
Lastly, we will learn about toxin-free lifestyle and usage of common herbs in simple home remedies as well as skin, hair and face care.
We will finally head back to Bengaluru with potentially life-changing thoughts of sustainability instilled and ignited.
